HOW I GOT INTO DESIGN

I started my design career when I was in high school, through Salt Lake Community College. I completed my first 2 years in Graphic Design at Southern Utah University, where I earned 2 design scholarships, and then transferred and finished my undergrad at Utah Valley University, where I grew to love learning about branding, editorial design, UX/UI, and pretty much everything else art-and-design related. Since studying graphic design, I've had the opportunity to do freelance work outside of school for a few small local start-ups, specializing in their branding, marketing, and social media. I love to learn about new areas of design, and look forward to branching out into different mediums.

Outside of design, I grew up in a big family where activity was a part of everyday life. I spent many years playing competitive volleyball, while my siblings and I were also involved in music and the arts. Family holidays were often spent hiking and exploring the outdoors, which gave me a lasting appreciation for beautiful landscapes and meaningful experiences in nature. I’ve always loved drawing and photography, and those creative outlets continue to influence how I see the world today. My faith is also a central part of my life and shapes the way I approach my work, relationships, and creativity. My favorite projects to design are almost always the ones that have to do with faith, sports, music, and nature.
